There’s a small but interesting museum with Cristo Velato, and petrified human bodies of a chemistry experiment gone wrong. You may have to ask the locals where it is (just say, “Cristo Velato?” with an Italian accent). Also, a visit to Pompeii is pretty standard, as is one to Capri, if you’re not already going there on your cruise. I’ve heard the “egg” Castle (don’t remember the word for ‘egg’ in Italian) is nice, but I wasn’t able to see the inside when I was there.
One day is enough in Naples, have fun!

Your cruise should have excursions you can take. Check with your cruise line before you go. Some you can book directly through the ship.

Hi Jenny!
One day ist enought for visit Neaples….
“Cristo Velato” is marble statue, the marble veil and statue seems real is in “San Severo Cappella” you have to pay about 7 euro for the visit.
But you have to see i Faraglioni di Capri! If you are in cruise you arrive in “Molo Beverello”, from here you can take “Aliscafo per Capri” (cost 10 euro) and visit the beautiful coast… oh, don’t forget the swimming trunks!
If you want do “only” shopping ask for “Via dei mille”, “Via Chiaia” and “Via Roma”. Via dei mille is the most expensive and Via Roma cheap.
Positano, Amalfi, Paestum and Popmpei are too far.
ps. not put all your money in the same pocket or bag!
Don’t go around with anything precious.
If you have one day only, “Maschio Angioino” Castle, very close to the harbor, will be the first thing u will see in Napoli, you can have a look from outside it’s gorgeous.
The Royal Palace in Piazza Plebiscito is very close too, it must be visited!
Just on the side of the Royal Palace, there’s one of the oldest opera house in the world Teatro San Carlo it is expensive and i guess u will not have the time to see a show, but if they let you enter for a visit you’ll be astonished. Form piazza plebiscito departs via Roma also called via Toledo nice pedestrian street where u can make some shopping. At the end of Via Roma there is The National Archaeological Museum with a lot of famous roman statues from Pompeii and an huge egyptian section (yes, mummies too!).
To eat i suggest u Da Nennella (walking on via Roma from Plebiscito to the museum on your left in the Spanish Quarters Area) the food is excellent and cheap, the staff it’s crazy…very fun (if u have problems in finding it just ask).
Before u arrive to the museum on your left you will find spaccanapoli a street that leads you to ancient Napoli, with buildings from Medieval Age to Renascence (declared UNESCO world cultural heritage).
You will have no time, but i give u the name of some monuments that really worth a visit:
Gesù Nuovo Church baroque style with many things to see
Santa Chiara Church gothic
Cappella Sansevero (the one with cristo velato, that was the private chapel of prince of sansevero an alchimist).
San Lorenzo (to go “under” that church it’s a voyage into the past since there is a very well preserved roman street, with ancient shops banks etc and “under” the roman street there are the rest of greek walls built such 2400 years ago).
Napoli Sotterranea (close to san lorenzo) a long walk in ancient caves under the town full of incredible discoveries (like the theater in wich emperor Nero was acting and his personal secret paths).
Visit napoli requires weeks but if u had a day choose one or two of those….u will be satisfied.
i come from napoli you must to see castel nuovo,il maschio angioino il museo archeologico,il duomo,s.chiara e il golfo ok? kisses
