Alot of smelly people who dont shower.
Italians, French, Brits, Germans, they all could take a good lesson from Americans regarding personal hygiene.

Well you can expect to be on post a lot because the Italians keep having protest…and when they do things like that the MP’s don’t let american personnel off post….Hope you like the PX…
I love Italy, but when I was in Naples in 1993, it reminded me of Mexico. Maybe it has changed since then…
I spent 3 1/2 years in Sardinia (island off the west coast..try to go there sometime….Santa Tersesa) and several months in Naples (actually, my ‘hide out’ was north in Toregaveta…no one spoke English, no Americans there…small village.)
If you make an attempt to learn the language, get out and meet the locals (live ‘on the economy’..we did and loved it. You get to experience so much more than living with other military people. I had no Americans on my street.) By living in town and not ‘on base,’ we got invited to so many places by our neighbors. My wife and sons got to be known all over town (maybe 2,500 people lived there), and when I went back 3 years later on leave from Naples, everyone I ran into asked where they were. My sons played with the local kids, my wife made friends with the neighbor ladies. (My oldest spoke about 5 dialects with ease. ) She still keeps in touch with one of the ladies and we left in 1976. If you try to speak Italian, the Italians will help you in your words and pronunciation (unlike the French I ran into).
Being in Naples, you’re able to go anyplace from there.
Benevenuti a Italia! Enjoy your tour!
